My Story
In the early days of their relationship, my father wrote poetry for my mother. Although she wasn't a creative writer, my mom enjoyed journaling. So, I guess you can say that writing and journaling are in my genes.
I made up my first rhyming poem at the age of four. My mom wrote for me as I dictated:

I'll be gone with the wind, oh-oh-oh.
I'll be gone with the wind.
Breezes freeze. Noses sneeze, and I'll tell you why.
Little, little Johnny broke a spell,
and all the little people blew. Oh well.
So that's my story (x4)
Yeah!
I like to think I've improved a bit since then.
At the age of 11, I was invited to attend the Young Author's Conference and at 13, I won first place in a Crime Stoppers Essay Contest for gun control. During the 2000's, I added songwriting to my list of endeavors, coming up with lyrics to over a dozen original songs.
In 2010, I began writing fanfiction and, as I recovered from double carpal tunnel release surgery, I penned "Projects, Lessons, & Love Songs" - my very first novel. I see now the errors and improvements that could be made in the story but, that doesn't detract from the pride I feel for having accomplished such an undertaking in nine weeks.
That year, I created the plot for "States of Grace" - a labor of love that would take me 12 years to finally write, and another three years to edit and revise. Slated for release in 2025, "States of Grace" will be my first non-fanfiction novel.
